The ocean is calling
Surf, swim, snorkel, dive, boat, fish or simply explore the vast peninsula coastal beaches.
With vast, wild coastlines and breaks of all types powered by the raw Southern Ocean, Trackwork knows the regional swell behaviours and where the best waves are breaking. Growing up in the ocean, surfing some of the heaviest and most spectacular breaks in the world, Sam has decades of surfing pedigree, surfing the heaviest breaks of Fleurieu and Yorke Peninsulas, and across Australia and New Zealand. We have a deep knowledge of weather conditions and risks at beaches across the region, and support many activities beyond surfing to anything ocean-inspired.
Surfing is a high-risk activity. Therefore, any water activities require an acknowledgment of acceptable risk waiver from our clients. We do however take our duty of care extremely seriously, with Sam trained to remote area, first aid standard, advanced first aid supplies and equipment on board. We maintain medevac capability with constant and reliable communications, through phone boosters, radio and mobile Starlink in the remote coastal regions where coverage is often unreliable. Our contingency planning for medical access and safety is built into every trip we do, and while we plan for nothing but good times, we are prepared to support you confidently through your journey into the blue yonder.
Surfing, Beach & Ocean Access
Sam is a lifelong surfer growing up on the ocean surfing, bodyboarding and sailing – constantly exploring the coastlines of South Australia. Specialising in travel to the Yorke Peninsula and the spectacular breaks of Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park, we can on request develop itineraries for expeditions of the Fleurieu Peninsula, Deep Creek and the West Coast of the state. Whilst surfing and ocean activities on the Yorke Peninsula are wild and challenging, the swell is spectacular, featuring breaks of all types amidst a spectacular environment. Surrounding those breaks are thousands of kilometres of awe-inspiring coastline, dotted with beaches and communities each of unique personality.
We cater to anything ocean related and can organise activities and journeys to suit your needs and interests. Our exceptional transportation and safety standards enable us to get you to partner experience providers in remote areas, enabling a deeper view of the region. Our vehicles and capabilities allow us to support larger groups, or brands seeking to push the limits of their athletes into remote environments. At all times, our communications and first aid equipment allows us to stay in contact with emergency services and enable expedient access to medical assistance if needed. Our proficiency in photography and drone operations provides for marketing support and lasting memories to be captured for you.
Yorke & Eyre Peninsula Expeditions
At Trackwork, we are directly aware of the range of risks that the open ocean can present and prepares accordingly. With our advanced first aid, medevac experience and communications capabilities, we recognise surfing is a high-risk activity but always ensure a professional first response and transport capability is on hand. We can provide surf guidance in the water to ensure you’re positioned in the lineup when the waves roll in, and the best beaches for amazing swell when it kicks hard. Of course, we’re more than happy to join you in the lineup and provide guidance on wave behaviour and swell forecasts while hunting for breaks.
Where the conditions are unsuitable for any reason, we will gladly pivot your experience into other forms of on and off water leisure and explore the wonders of the coastal environment. We’re ready to go with the flow if you are. Across the Yorke and Eyre Peninsulas, dozens of national and conservation parks, pubs, museums and generally epic viewpoints are to be found. Trackwork ensures your journey is focused on the ocean and the landscape, but provides a deeper perspective into the history and people of these unique communities. Seasonally, the regions expose different personalities from hot and beachy, to stormy and awe inspiring. We let the weather and conditions guide the ride.
